With the eSign application, it's not merely about electronic signatures; it goes beyond that, enabling parties to fill in the required fields of various types, whether text, dates, or addresses.

When you switch to Odoo, there’s no need to rewrite those documents again. Simply upload them as they are, define the locations of fields, signatures, and stamps, and assign who will fill in those fields—be it a customer, employee, or external party. You can also set the sequence in which the document will be completed by all parties.

Odoo then automatically sends signature requests to the respective parties via email while keeping the supervising user informed about the signature status of each party. Once all signatures are complete, a finalized version is sent to all parties and archived in Odoo’s Document Management System.

Odoo’s eSign feature is highly secure, issuing encrypted digital certificates that include timestamps, event logs, and geographical data of the parties involved. This provides a legally valid document that serves as proof of the agreement.

Does it end there? Absolutely not! From a holistic perspective, the relationship between the eSign app and other Odoo applications becomes evident. For instance, the Document Management app integrates closely with it, allowing signatures to be part of automated workflows. Using the smart Tags system within Actions, you can easily determine whether a document requires a signature or not.
